22 November 2003, Bad Pyrmont, Germany
Present: Rachel Bryers, Aidan McCartney and Jonathan Riddell. Apologies: Jan Caspers and Carolyn Forrest
We read the Charitable Committee Minutes from 2002 and updated out personal contact details.
We have seen and approve the EMEYF Charitable Committee accounts for 2002.
We have looked at the 2003 accounts to date. We thank Young Friends General Meeting for their generous grant. We ask Jonathan to ensure the accounts are completed and examined to be presented at our next meeting.
Jonathan has informed us of the Gift Aid scheme which allows to claim tax back from donations from individuals who are UK tax payers. Jonathan will encourage donators to use this scheme and will claim the appropriate tax back for 2003 at the beginning of 2004.
We are encouraged to think about sources of funding for EMEYF.
Jonathan will look into the possibility of using a Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust grant to fund costs associated with the EMEYF Secretary.
Jonathan has informed us that he finds the present bank account confusing and unhelpful. We authorise him to look into changing the bank account to the Co-operative Bank or Charities Aid Foundation. If Jonathan finds either of these two banks suitable for our account we ask him to organise the transfer of our funds and close the old account.
Should Jonathan transfer out funds to a new account the signatories will be Rachel Bryers, Jan Caspers, Aidan McCartney and Jonathan Riddell. We require one signatory to sign cheques or transfer requests.
The next EMEYF Charitable Committee AGM will take place at EMEYF Annual Meeting in Gronegin, March 2004.
Respectfully Submitted
Signed RA McCartney, Jonathan Riddell, Rachel Bryers
